Government says "New Price" Will Create 200,000 Jobs

The Federal Government has stated that the "new price' regime for the downstream of the petroleum sector is going to help Nigerians and that it will create jobs for additional 200,000 people.

 The Ministry of Petroleum Resources stated this in Abuja on Friday to NAN, in their statement, they emphasized that, it would potentially create jobs through new investments in refineries and retailing of crude oil products.
 They also stated that the new price would prevent the potential loss of close to 400,000 jobs in the petroleum sector.
 They said the price would provide additional funds which would enable government to deliver its function in the power sector, security, provision of education and healthcare and to generally stabilize the economy
