How We Arrested Fake EFCC Operatives In Cross River-DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Calabar, Cross River State has arrested a man identified as Mr. Peter Akpanke for allegedly conspiring with two others named Rufus Awu and Charles Ikpeme to act as Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Operatives.




 According to CrossRiverWatch, the three suspects were arrested during the weekend by the DSS following a tip-off after the suspects had made plans to defraud the Head of state government transport agency of about N10 million.
 The two accomplices of Mr. Peter Akpanke who were officials of the state goverment Mr. Awu and Mr. Ikpeme wer accused of master-minding a petition against the state transort Head.




How They Were Caught

The suspects called the Head of the transport agency and assured him that he should foward N10 million to them so that they would make plans to talk with their Boss in Abuja, so that his petition would just die off.



 So the Head of transport agreed to pay the N10 million they asked and the DSS were now aware of their plan via a tip-off and invaded the hotel room that the suspects were and took them to Police custody.


  Further investigations are still being made on the matter and according to a source, their is assurance that with the weight of the allegations against the suspects, they could be charged to court and prosecuted, if the allegations made against them were true.
