Internet Fraudster Faces 10 Year Jail Term, For alleged N2.5 Million Fraud

As the world goes digital, unfortunately so does crime as Frank Emem faces 10 years imprisonment by Justice H.A Nganjiwa of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Friday for alleged N2.5 million internet fraud.

 He was found guilty of two charges of obtaining money by false pretences  brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on each count without an option of fine.
 Emem was arrested for defrauding a Chinese man named Wang Xin of N2.5 million.
 How It Happened
  The convict cloned the official e-mail account of Vhelbherg International Limited and sent mails to Mr. Wang Xin, who was a client of the company (Vhelbherg International Limited) telling him  to send the said sum to the company's account (his account).
 The offence was committed in December 2012 at Port Harcourt and he was arrested in 2013.
