Vice President, Governors, Security Chiefs Meet Over Niger delta Crisis

 As the Niger delta Militants lays threat to the government, to bomb strategic areas in the nation's capital, Abuja the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo called for a meeting with Governors of the Niger Delta Region and also Security Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

 The governors included Nyeson Wike of Rivers, Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Dickson Seriake of Bayelsa, udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo.
 The Security service Chiefs included General Gabriel Olonishaki, the Chief of Defence staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai , the Chief of Army Staff and Vice Admirak Ibok Ette Ibas, the Chief of Naval Staff.



 Others included the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali, Minister of State Petroluem, Ibe Kachikwu and Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Uguru Usani who were also in attendance.
 The meeting is believed to have discussed the way forward in resolving the knotty issue of the present agitation by the Militant groups in the oil states.
