SARS Officer Shoots Man, For Refusing To Stop When Told To Stop

One of the members of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has shot a 42 year old man in Kano on Wednesday, saying that he refused to stop when told to stop by his other colleagues.




 According to Punch, an eyewitness stated that the Police officer shot Mr. Tochukwu Iro for allegedly refusing to stop when he was told to stop.



 The eyewitness said "the deceased refused to stop when ordered by SARS operatives on France Road, adjacent Kano Pillars Stadium. He was immediately shot on the thigh."
 Responding to this, the Chairman, Igbo Traders Welfare  Association, Kano, Chief Emmanuel C. Amadi, said he received a call from one of his members, telling him about the incident that he "rushed to the scene of the incident but was informed that the deceased had already been rushed to the hospital where Doctors operated and removed a bullet located in his body."



 He said he now received a sad news from the hospital on Thursday afternoon that Mr. Tochukwu is dead, then this now sparked controversy as Igbo youths in Kano State protested over the killing.
 The Police responding to this in as statement signed by the Kano Police Command Public relations Officer, DSP Magaji Musa Maji, revealed that the Commissioner of Police in the State had ordered the instant arrest of the culprits.
