Sokoto Government Gives 500,000 and Lands to retired Armed Robbers


In a bid to discourage crime and encourage entrepreneurship, the Sokoto state government has rewarded no fewer than 60 bandits who denounced bad lives and surrendered their weapons.
The repentant bandit’s were said to have been among those who were operating in Isa LGA of Sokoto state and parts of Zamfara and Katsina states.
Their repentance followed the amnesty programme of the state government which includes monetary reward to any bandit who voluntarily surrender his weapon.

The event took place at Isa LGA of the state, those who surrendered very sophisticated weapons like AK47, SMG riffles and G3 received N500,000 with a plot of land to build house and a farmland.
