2 Security Guards arrested for allegedly stealing iron rods



 45 year old , Muhammadu Jato, and 24 year old  Muhammadu Gana residing at 444 Gwarimpa have being arraigned for allegedly stealing 165 rods valued at N396,000.
They were arraigned on a two-count charge of joint act and theft.

The prosecutor, Mrs. Florence Auhioboh, told the court that the complainant, Hamsu Bappa of C Avenue Gwarinpa reported the matter at Gwarinpa Police Station on May 9.
She added that on that day, at about 9.30 p.m. the defendants conspired and stole the iron rods from the complainant’s construction site.
She said that during investigation, the police discovered that the defendants sold the iron rods to one Nasiru Ibrahim.
She said the offence contravened Sections 79 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The two men however denied committing the offences.
The Judge, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq, granted them N50, 000 bail each, with one surety each in like sum.

He ordered that each of the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and adjourned the matter till April 27 for hearing.
