40 Year Old man remanded over N.13 Billion Fraud


An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court  had on Tuesday ordered the remand of 40 year old man named  Adekunle Akeem, over alleged N1.3 million fraud.

The prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, had told the court that the accused committed the offence sometimes in December 2014, at Iremo Road, Ile-Ife in Osun.
Abdullahi said that the defendant obtained N1.3 million from one Adefeso Abiodun, under the pretence that he would supply him Picnic Toyota car, but failed to do so.
 The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 383 and punishable under sections 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to two counts of fraud and stealing.

Magistrate Iyabo Salami granted bail to the accused in the sum of N500, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until May 9 for hearing.
