How a Police Officer was Killed at Checkpoint!

Gunmen operating on a motorcycle on Wednesday reportedly killed a police officer on duty at a checkpoint and made away with his AK 47 rifle in Onitsha, Anambra.

This happened barely three weeks after a police inspector was killed at a road block at Ugwunwasike round-about, ogidi near Onitsha.
An eyewitness told newsmen that Wednesday's incident occurred at about 3:30 pm at a checkpoint near Nkpor junction.

The source revealed that the gunmen shot the police man at close range, collected his rifle and sped-off, adding that the incident made people around and other police officers to use escape routes.
