Custom Mustang-palooza moving to Ford's SEMA booth

Will Ford stock its SEMA booth with more vehicles than any other OEM automaker at the show? Sure..they will. Among the fifty Ford wares on display, show-goers will find seven customized 2018 Mustangs touched by the paint-and-carbon-fiber-stained hands of MAD Industries, Roush Performance, Tucci Hot Rods, Speedkore Performance Group, DeBerti Design, Air Design, and the police non-profit DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti).

Roush's wide-body, Grabber Green "TriAthlete" stakes a claim on the fringe, with a 729-horsepower, supercharged 5.0-liter V8, and Roush's new body kit in addition to a wide-body kit. Racing driver Brad DeBerti put a Roush supercharger on his design, then widened the body solely to make room for Mickey Thompson's 18-inch-wide rear tires. Tucci Hot Rods' speedmeister fastback shoots for the double-ton, bolting a Hellion twin-turbo kit on the forward bits and a Stroud parachute on the rearward bits.
Speedkore calms it all down with a take on the "classic American roadster," dotting a Mustang convertible with handmade trim, a carbon and aluminum roll bar, and a tonneau cover. MAD Industries swims in the same waters, wrapping a retuned 2.3-liter EcoBoost convertible in lots of carbon fiber and staggered 20-inch wheels. DRAGG's entry looks like the Decepticon police Mustang known as Barricade decided Transformers director Michael Bay didn't go far enough. Air Design, choosing relative grace over ferocity, worked up a body kit emphasizing sleek lines.

Beyond the big names, the usual tuning suspects make the lineup, featuring suspensions like Eibach, Roush, and H&R, brakes from Wilwood and Brembo, and wheels from Forgiato, Vossen, and others. Glittering paint jobs, LEDs, lots of cross-stitched leather, and more speakers than the Consumer Entertainment Show ensure visitors get the SEMA candy they came for. For the stat sheet, the septet includes two convertibles, three 2.3-liter Ecoboost motors, and three 10-speed automatics.
