Mobil Starts Paying About N 1 Billion to Eket Communities Affected by Oil Spillage

 Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) Unlimited, a subsidiary of oil giant, ExxonMobil, after protest from people of Eket communities in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria has started the installmental payments of the 1.12 billion oil spill palliative to the communities.
 This was revealed by the Manager, Public and Government Affairs, Mrs Regina Udobong at the project execution kick-off meeting and safety training in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Sunday.
She said 25 per cent of the oil spill palliative has been released and that the oil spill palliative would be paid in four installments.
