Nigeria Joins The World To Celebrate World Health Day

 Diabetes is a group of metabolic disease in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. It's symptoms include frequent urination, increased thirst and increased hunger.
World Health Day is celebrated globally in an annual basis on April 7, to promote awareness of different health topics and this year's topic was based on diabetes.
 Nigeria's Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole talked about the increasing rate of diabetes in the country. He said according to the figures provided by the International Diabetes Federation, he said diabetes prevailed between the ages of 20-79 years in the country. Which was 1.9 % per cent in 2015.
 The theme for this year's World Health Day was "Beat Diabetes Mellitus". The commemoration took place at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Engineer Babachir Lawal. Engr. Babachir added tht 2.8 % percent of the nation's population was diabetic and the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole urged Nigerians to create awareness on the need to eradicate diabetes.
