Nigeria Is Loosing 800,000 Barrels Per Day-Says Kachikwu

The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Ibe kachikwu while speaking at the House of Representatives in Abuja on Monday stated that Nigeria is currently loosing 800,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

 He said Nigeria is producing 1.4 million barrels per day, as compared to it's former level of production which is 2.2 million barrels.
 He said "I do share the sentiments of many Nigerians, that the country that produces 2.2 million barrels should not be in the business of importing petroleum products."
 The Minister said investments in the upstream sector could  create about 300,000 jobs for Nigerians in the downstream sector.
