Ekiti striking Workers Suspends Strike

The striking civil servants of Ekiti State, Nigeria has on Friday suspended their 4 weeks old strike after negotiations with the state Government.

 In a meeting that included stakeholders from the Joint Negotiating Council, state representative of the Nigerian Labour Congress and also that of the Trade Union Congress with the state government.  Resolutions made included granting of loans to civil servants of the state and also payment of salaries.

 Speaking, the state Head of Service Dr. Gbenga Faseluka, expressed appreciation for the understanding shown by the labour leaders and also the commitment of the State Governor, Ayo Fayose to make sure there is industrial harmony in the state.
