Lagos Dangote Oil Refinery To Be Launched In 2019

The Dangote refinery worth billions, currently under construction at the Lekki Free Zone (LFZ), in Lagos has being acertained to be completed by 2019.

 This was revealed when the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo conducted an assessment tour of the 4 Dangote's project which includes the refinery, the petro-chemical project, gas pipeline project and also the fertilizer project.
 The Vice President at the LFZ in Lagos on Saturday was accompanied with Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and other dignitaries.
 The Vice President stated that the Dangote refinery would be completed by the first quarter of 2019 while the gas pipeline project would be completed by 2018.

 The Vice President siad "It is an incredible industrial undertaking. It is possibly the largest and the most ambitious in the continent today. It is truly inspiring to see. the refinery will take off in the first quarter of 2019. I think the sub-sea gas pipelines, which is a very important project, is meant to take off 2018. That gas pipeline will go all the way from Bonny through Gbedegbe, Olukola to Lekki here and Escravos, Lagos pipeline and then West Africa Gas Pipeline."

 Speaking about security of the pipelines, the Vice President said "If you are talking about the security of the gas pipeline, it is secure. The pipeline is installed under the sea. It is a sub-sea project. it is fortified and goes into the seas. It is not what anybody can go there and vandalise with the way it is designed. It is designed to prevent vandalisation. It is designed very deep into the sea.'
