LIRS Seals 18 Hotels For Refusing To Pay Tax

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has stated that not less than 18 hotels in the state have been sealed for not remitting the sum of N34.79 million hotel occupancy and consumption tax to the state.

 Mrs. Ajubika Oshodi-Sholola who is the Head, District Unit, LIRS on Friday disclosed this, saying that many hospitality companies operating in Lagos do not pay taxes and this has to be done "So that they would imbibe the culture of voluntary tax-compliance".
