NFF Fires Referee Over Misconduct , Says He Should Retire With Immediate Effect

The Nigerian Football Federation's Referees Committee has ordered the immediate retirement of Refereee Abiodun Alaba (Ogun State) for alleged smisconduct in coordination of matches, just after the match between MFM FC and Shooting Stars in Lagos on Sunday.

 A statement from the NFF reads "Referee Abiodun Alaba lost absolute control of the NPFL Match No. 223 between MFM FC (of Lagos) and Shooting Stars of Ibadan played at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Sunday, 19 Junde 2016. He was not able to manage several frustrating antics of players during the match inspite of the helpful support from his assistant referees."

 Then the statement concluded saying "the NFF Referees Committee has decided to retire him from active football refereeing with immediate effect."
