Read How 5 Died In Cross River Due To Communual Clash

Not less than 5 people have lost their lives following the land dispute crisis, between the Adadama people in Abi Local Government area of Cross River State and people of Amagu in Niko Local Government area of Ebonyi State.

 How The Five died
 A source speaking to SouthernCity News, said that 4 persons were killed when some women from Adadama went to their farms to harvest cassava and were chased out by some youths from Amagu.

 The source said "When they reported their ordeal, the youths of Adadama went on a rescue mission and fracas (quarrel) ensued  . It led to the death of four Adadama youths while four other persons were rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital with bullet wounds. I learnt that one Ikor Anali later died in the hospital."

   Then the State Security Adviser reacting to this said "Immediately the crisis broke I called my colleague in Ebonyi state because we have been talking. There is a joint boundary committee between Ebonyi and Cross River to resolve that crisis."
