Katsina Government Distributes Goats To Women, Says It's For Empowerment

The Katsina State Government has on Tuesday distributed about 720 special goats from Niger Republic to various women in the state, which they say is part of it's Women Empowerment Scheme.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor of Katsina State on Economic Empowerment, Abdulkadir Nasir, the goats worth N104 million.

 He stated that 240 women have being selected across the 34 local government areas of the state, that will be given 2 female goats and a male goat for breeding.
 He said the goats "reproduce twice a year and give up to two liters of milk daily."
 He then urged the beneficiaries not to sell the goats and then proper care should be given to the goats.
