NCC Urges subscribers to take Advantage of the 2442 Code

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in its effort to educate telecommunications consumers on their right to quality telecoms services have said subscribers could stop unsolicited text messages if they send “STOP” to “2442”.

 In declaring 2017 as the year of Nigerian Telecom consumer recently, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta said the year of the Consumer would focus on two key areas which are improving the quality of service, protecting and educating the consumer.

NCC said “To address the unsolicited calls received by consumers, the NCC introduced the do Not disturb (DND) facility where consumers are urged to activate the service by dialing “2442” code.
