Shell Commences Trans-Forcados Pipeline Testing

Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) after several months of repairs has started testing the Trans-Forcados crude export pipeline for a potential restart, with the Astro Perseus crude tanker expected to load the first cargo before the week runs.

The pipeline has been shut since it was attacked by the Niger Delta Avengers in February 2016.
The pipeline resumed exports in October 2016 after it was repaired but was shut down in November after the militants bombed the sub sea facility for the second time.

before it was attacked, Forcados  stream produced between 200,000 and 240,000 barrels per day.
