Just less than a week after the All Progressive Congress (APC), held its national convention, a top South-South blogger,  Efio-Ita Nyok, has urged APC youth leaders in Cross River State to defect from the party, due to the lackluster manner in which the party has so far conducted itself and the business of governance in the country.

The ace journalist also lampooned the way and manner the convention was organized, which he alleged was marred by violence and acrimony, describing it as disgusting and reprehensible.

Nyok's position is contained in a statement posted on his Facebook wall on Monday, 25th June, 2018, which was seen by our correspondent.
The statement reads in part: ''I am totally disappointed at the lackluster manner with which the APC has conducted herself thus far, beginning from 29 May, 2015.

''For me, the All Progressive Congress is a cacophony of discordant voices whose inability to deliver on campaign promises- fighting corruption, address an ailing economy and confront insecurity, hold a peaceful national convention after numerous failed attempts among others, is to say the least, disgusting and reprehensible.''

He specifically called on Ifere Paul, Joseph Odok, Inyali Peter, Kalita Joe Aruku, who are vocal voices and youth leaders in Cross River State APC to defect, saying the party has set bad precedents and that it wants to progress with its negative change beyond 2019.

''I am calling on youths and young Nigerians of Cross River extraction particularly, Inyali Peter, Joseph Odok, Ifere Paul, Kalita Aruku etc, who are card-carrying members of the party to disengage from the APC for the bad precedents it has shown thus far.
''Also, sympathizers who are most likely to join the disunited fold should scare such disposition from their minds. My call, I think, should be heeded to, if not for anything else, but for the fact that the APC wants to 'progress' with this negative 'change' beyond 2019.'', the statement adds.
