Real Madrid
has denied they are planning to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with Neymar Jr.
The Spanish
club was forced to release a statement on Friday, after strong speculations
linking them with a move for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, to fill the void
left by Juventus-bound Ronaldo.
“Given the
constant information linking the PSG player Neymar Jr. with our club, Real
Madrid CF wants to clarify that he has no plans to make any offers for the
player.
“The
relationship between the two clubs is extraordinary, so that, if at some point
Real Madrid were considering hiring a PSG player, the first thing he would do
would be to go to his club,” it read.
It is also
believed that PSG are seeking to offer Neymar an improved deal only one year
after he joined the club, to ward off interest from the European champions.
