Yet to open his account for the Old Lady in
competitive football, the forward nevertheless works day and night to keep in
top physical shape at 33.
There is no
rest for the wicked - nor for Cristiano Ronaldo, it seems, as the Juventus
forward went straight back into training following his home debut in Italy.
Ronaldo drew
his second consecutive blank in Serie A on Saturday against Lazio, although he
did pick up a rather fortuitous assist when he diverted the ball into Mario
Mandzukic's path.
That
Mandzukic goal added to Miralem Pjanic's earlier strike to seal a 2-0 victory ,
marking six points out of six for the reigning champions as they seek an eighth
straight Scudetto. The
former Real Madrid star may not have found his scoring boots yet since moving
from Real Madrid, as the wait continues for his first competitive goal.
But ever the
perfectionist, he showed his admirers that the famous Ronaldo physique most definitely
did make the trip from the Spanish capital to Turin.
Not for
Cristiano a lazy Sunday with the family or friends; he was to be found in the
gym toning up without rest.
And from the
evidence on show in the player's Instagram post, that hard work is certainly
paying off as, at 33, he wards off the spectre of middle age spread that
catches up with the rest of us mere mortals.
Ronaldo will
have another chance to break his Juve duck on Saturday, when the Bianconeri
visit newly promoted Parma.
