The Nigeria Police says normalcy has returned to  Bendeghe-Ekiem community, in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State, following a clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  that led to the death of four persons, Owojela's Blog learnt.

Speaking on the efforts made to return peace to the area, Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Austin Agbonlahor, said a combined team of mobile policemen with the support of other security agencies has brought normalcy to Etung.

Others who sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the clash have been taken to various hospitals to receive medical attention.

Governor Ben Ayade, who visited some of the affected persons in hospitals, warned supporters of the two major political parties in the state and their sponsors to play by the rules of the game or face the law.

Etung is the local government of the APC governorship candidate, Senator John Owan-Enoh while the PDP senatorial candidate from Central Cross River also comes from the local government. The two of them enjoy massive support base which led to the clash.
