Connect Conference 2019 Calabar

Young People Connect is a platform that seeks to connect the dots between professional/graduate qualificationswith an individual's skill set.

One of the goals of Young People Connect (YPC) is to enhance employability through strategic conferences, trainings, collaboration and advance skill optimization. This, to bridge the gap between skills and school which is its main priority.
The man behind the lens of YPC, is an integrity brooding personnel, Mr. Joseph Joseph Etim.

Joseph Joseph Etim, a young Nigerian, an impact leader, a tech savvy, social entrepreneur in youth development and a brand developer, is the founder of Young People Connect. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Computer Technology from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.

Mr. Joseph has always ensured that his passion through creativity has been shone by excellence and teamwork which has led to his great achievements. He is known for his blue ocean strategies, creativity and innovative ideologies which he uses to grow startups and engage young people in personal development.
He is addressed as the "ignorance dissolver" by his team.

According to Mr. Joseph, YPC was initiated after a thoughtful and detailed study which revealed that many young people,
especially undergraduates and recent graduates, do not understand the importance of possessing
vocational and soft skills in today's world. Many are focused on bagging a degree and getting a white
collar job. While very few possess skill but then are faced with the challenge of harnessing their skills or
trade with the rigors of a typical institution of higher learning in Nigeria.

The Young People Connect (YPC) is aimed at empowering young people with relevant information and skills that would aid them a competitive advantage in a fast growing and dynamic society.

Connect Conference; #SchoolversusSkill was an initiative birthed to link the dots between professional and graduate status individuals with matching skill sets and it turned out a huge success in the year 2018, acquainting an heterogenous audience of students, graduates, thoughtful leaders and change makers in the city of Calabar, Nigeria.

This year, Connect Conference has its theme as #thefutureofjobs , an extension of #SchoolversusSkill .

Connect Conference is a multifaceted, educating and engaging gathering filled with pulsating moments of
deliberate interactions, insights and training, poised to marry the academic and business worlds.

It is an event that engages a vast array of audience, cutting across ages, professions and classes.

This year asides from the widely anticipated Connect Conference, YPC will be launching her Virtual University Platform (VUP), solely to engage and equip 50,000 young undergraduates, graduates, entrepreneurs and enthusiastic fellows with creative digital skills, high demand of 21st century market place tools, employability and innovative recycling skills.
